The Audacity of “I do” – The Audacity of Marriage.

 

When I first came across this dramatic statement from German Politician, Gabriele Pauli, of the Christian Social Union (CSU) I honestly gagged at first, seriously. I couldn’t believe someone could come up with such a thing.

After my initial shock I drank a bit of water to clear my throat , thought about it and decided that it might have a bit of logic; however, does it just further corrode the institution of  marriage?

Should marriage be on a contractual bases that is renewed (or not) after seven years.

 

OK,  so the CSU is a male dominant party that hold the sanctity of marriage in high regards. I have no problem with that. That’s actually great.

Well, the head honcho of the CSU, Horst Seehofer, recently resigned after his affair with a younger women, who recently had his baby, was disclosed. Oh, he’s married with three kids.

Maybe Pauli’s idea isn’t so far fetched?
